Post June 6 - what are you doing today??
So I got up a 6am...in the office by 7am. Might work out at lunch, finish a few afternoon meetings, and head home for dinner with the wife and kids.

However on this day in 1944, about 150,000 of our Fathers and Grandfathers hopped off a ship into a landing craft, stormed the beaches of Normandy, and established the first major American foothold in Europe during WWII. Their lunches were TBD. Around 12,000 didn't get lunch that day, much less make it home a year later.

France, again you are welcome.

Remember D-Day!

Well said. My grandfathers best friend was there. Nearly drowned jumping off the landing craft, and then, after making it onto the beach took 5 rounds from a German machine gun and survived. he passed away years ago, but a great man, along with the rest of his generation. A huge thanks to all of them for the sacrifices they made.

I was at the 50th celebration. Well... "at" is a loose term. I was on the USS George Washington. We hauled Pres. Clinton and a shit-ton of high-end officials across the channel. They did a wreath-laying ceremony, then they flew off to the beaches for whatever happened there.

Today I am enjoying our hard-earned freedoms. I helped out at my son's school for their last day of school party, and currently I'm just avoiding chores.
